Chris Marsden

Marsden started his career off in 1987 playing for Sheffield Wednesday before signing for Huddersfield Town in 1988, spending six years at the club before leaving in 1994 for Notts County. He later on enjoyed short spells playing for Stockport County and Birmingham City before moving to Southampton in 1999. With the saints his leadership qualities shined through the club and was named captain of Southampton during the 2003 FA cup final. He made nearly 150 appearances for the Saints and scored six goals. He was a left footed midfield player who could sometimes play as a defender.

Gary Bannister

Bannister was a consistently effective goal scorer in a lengthy career in which he starred for North, Midlands and Southern football clubs. He started his career off playing for Coventry City before signing to Sheffield Wednesday and then QPR. He helped West Brom survive in the second division during the 1989 – 1990 campaign. He signed for the club for £250,000 from Coventry City and made a vital contribution to the football team.

David Hirst

Hirst is without doubt a cult hero with the Sheffield Wednesday club, he signed from Barnsley in the year 1986 and made a huge impact at the club during his 12 years with them, helping them win the league cup in 1991 and reaching the FA Cup and league cup final of 1993. His goals kept the Owls riding high in the premiership and he went on to make over 300 appearances for Wednesday during his successful era at the club.
